Le Rire (October 1894 - April 1971)

Le Rire was popular French humor magazine which came to promenence during the Dreyfus Affair of 1894, offering satirical social and political commentary and showcased many prevalenet French cartoonists of the time

 

These lithographs were part of an archival collection containing original runs of this magazine, sourced from Paris. 

 

Each cover depicted a political figure who was typically lampooned at the time during one of the most notable social turning points in French history.
